Electronic Arts and Starz Media have released a new trailer for the animated movie prequel to Dead Space, a third-person sci-fi survival horror game currently under development at EA Redwood Shores and scheduled to hit the store shelves across Europe and North America on October 21st, for PS3 and Xbox 360. The script for the Dead Space animated feature picks up the plot where the original comic book series ends and leads up to the beginning of the Dead Space game. The story focuses on the events aboard a futuristic mining spaceship, the USG Ishimura, after it pulls a mysterious artifact from a remote dig site. The artifact triggers the sudden invasion of a long-dormant alien presence, and the Ishimura's crewmembers find themselves locked in a frantic struggle to survive. The animated feature, named Dead Space Downfall, will be releasing close to the launch of the game.
SEGA has released a new 'making of' trailer from Golden Axe Beast Rider, showcasing this game inspired by the Golden Axe arcade title. The game features on-foot and mounted combat, realistic dismemberment, fidelity to the original locations and monsters, as well as an impressive single-player campaign. Golden Axe Beast Rider will hit the store shelves this Fall, for PS3 and Xbox 360. A new gameplay movie is also available.

UFO Games has released a playable demo of Petank Party, allowing you to try out this game based on the simple and addicting French game of Petanque (a Bocce Ball cousin). Up to 6 players can compete in 2 teams on a single machine, over a local network, or over Internet. The game features customizable characters, real physics, AI, magic balls, and much more. The free demo features 1 level, all the characters, most game modes, and has a 15 minutes time limit (which puts you back to the menu where you can start a new game). Electronic Arts has released three more trailers from Mirror's Edge, a first person action adventure scheduled to be available on November 13th for the PS3 and Xbox 360 and during winter for the PC. Mirror's Edge takes place in a city where information is heavily monitored and agile couriers called Runners transport sensitive data away from prying eyes. In this seemingly utopian paradise, a crime has been committed and now you are being hunted. You are a Runner called Faith - and this first-person action-adventure is your story. Mirror's Edge was developed by EA DICE studio.

Electronic Arts has released a new Skate 2 trailer, showcasing this upcoming skateboard game sequel developed for PS3 and Xbox 360. Skate 2 promises to deliver the feel of skating through innovative controls, authentic cameras and a fully reactive skateboarding city. In related news, Black Box, a studio of Electronic Arts, announced that it will be partnering with etnies, to bring their epic Goofy vs. Regular (GvR) skateboarding contest to the videogame world.
