Cryptic Studios has revealed that the profile of Foxbat is now available on the website of Champions Online, a MMORPG due to ship in Spring 2009, for PC and Xbox 360. Based on the popular pen-and-paper Champions RPG, Champions Online will offer a near infinite amount of character customization so that all players will have a unique game experience. Gamers will be able to create their hero's name, back story, costume, powers and abilities as well as design their own personal arch-enemy and his or her back story, which will guarantee a truly unique experience. Two new pieces of concept art and a comic origin have been inserted in our gallery.

GFI and Russobit-M Merge Announced

Game Factory Interactive and Russobit-M have started a merger process that will result in a holding with an annual revenue of over $45 mln and staff more than 350 people. The main reason for merger is the wish to enter and develop the MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing games), console and casual games market segments, which are both new to the companies. Alongside with this, the holding intends in forcing PC games digital distribution. In related news, GFI has signed a deal with Codemasters Online for Russian localization and publishing of Jumpgate Evolution. The company also revealed that it has entered into an agreement with iMusiñ TV GmbH for German language publishing and distribution of Russian online game iMones. The distribution territories include Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Ancient Quest of Saqqarah Released and Demo

Codeminion has announced the release of Ancient Quest of Saqqarah. a mix between a mind teasing game and an adventure movie. In Saqqara, the player will discover a mysterious underground oasis where she or he will be tasked with a quest to restore temples of the Egyptian gods. Each temple will provide a different type of puzzle challenge. Some of them will be well familiar to the casual players, while others were never seen before. They all share some core features and goals, but provide completely different pace and game mechanics. A playable demo is now locally mirrored.

Nicky Boom For Mobile Released and Screens

DotEmu, a start-up specialized in bringing classic video games to new devices, today announces the availability of Nicky Boom's for SmartPhones. The game is also playable online. Originally published on PC, Commodore Amiga and Atari ST in 1992, DotEmu has now agreed a license deal with game publisher and producer Microïds to bring back to life the charming little boy with red cheeks and a tubby belly. A batch of screenshots has been added to our library.

According to independent sales tracking information from the NPD Group, Wii has become the best-selling video game console in the United States. More than 666,000 Wii consoles sold for the month of June, and nearly 10.9 million Wii consoles have been sold in the United States in the 20 months following its November 2006 launch. The portable Nintendo DS finished as the top-selling U.S. video game system in June, with more than 783,000 units sold. To date, more than 20.8 million Nintendo DS has been sold in the United States.

Pool Party Released in UK

SouthPeak Games today announced that Pool Party for the Nintendo Wii, a fully-featured pool and snooker simulation, gone retail in UK. Pool Party features 13 different single player and multi-player game types, encompassing the standard 8-ball, 9-ball, snooker game modes, but including more exotic game types such as Rotation and Black Jack. Play takes place in a choice of 10 stylised environments, ranging from the seediest dive bars to opulent mansions and supremely luxurious yachts and players will also be stepping into the shoes of a range of distinctive characters, as well as facing off against formidable player AI.

Ninjatown Introduces White Ninja
