Star Trek: Deep Space 9 - The Fallen (c) Simonsays
Okay, here we go this is the newest game based on STAR TREK series, this time we focus us on Deep Space 9. Here is some information from the Deep Space Nine: The Fallen Webpage:
" The Pah-wraiths - a race of exiled, all-powerful aliens - are on the verge of returning. The keys to unleashing and harnessing their power are three archaic Red Orbs.
The race to find the Orbs is on between you - playing as either Captain Sisko, Major Kira, or Lt. Commander Worf - and a host of opposing forces that would use the ultimate power to dominate the Alpha Quadrant and all of its inhabitants."
So this is about the plot, let's take a closer look...
Well, the first thing to say is that this is STAR TREK... You like it or you don't like it. I like it :P. Your character is controlled out of a 3rd person perspective, you can change options like auto targeting or auto using like it fits you best. There are several things I noticed which aren't that usual in this game. There is some nice Laser modificator with which you can change the laser's frequency;that can be very useful if you meet some alien race like the borg. Another very funny thing is that you can do some kickboxing...very funny in multiplayer matches I thing...All 3 Characters are well animated and move way better than Tomb Raider :P
One thing I didn't like was in the 1st mission with Worf, it's way too dark! But that's only one small criticism.
One sentence: Unreal Tournament Engine. No no,there's something more to say about the graphics. There are some very nice effects especially in Kira's first mission, they used the UT engine very well i think. The movies are ingame sequences and look very well, too.
Not that good, but ok all the same. The sounds of the feet movement are a little bit annoying, but everything else is quite ok.
Another great game, damn it and so much great games to play this winter. It's a nice action adventure and it's even more great for Star Trek fans.If I should compare it to other games I would rate it like this: Much better than Tomb Raider 5, but unfortunately not good as No One Lives Forever, but of course still worse to get it!
