TERA Inside TERA: Combat System & BAMs Trailer (HD) 234.84MB - 64 downloads - 3 May, 2012
The TERA team gives more details about the action combat system, one of the most exciting features of the game.
The famous BAMs, the big ass monsters players have to face as they progress through the game, will also join the fray and demonstrate how their very advanced intelligence makes every fight in the game different. Players will need to use a different strategy to defeat each unique BAM, but there are some tips that can be applied to all of them: stay alert, don’t let your guard down, keep moving and hit them harder than they hit you.

A dark race with an even darker history, the Castanics are one of many unique races in TERA. Suffering prejudice and oppression since the demise of their demon god, the Castanics have become independent and self-sufficient, resourceful and hardy. Known for their dark humor and sense of irony, Castanics are inclined to depend upon their innate individual strengths, yet still make valuable allies.
Players who register by 13th January at 11:30 CET will be entered into a draw to win one of the first 1,000 closed beta passes, giving them access to the hugely anticipated MMO over the entire duration of testing. Those who aren’t lucky will still be in with a chance to jump into the world of TERA as more invites follow shortly after.
The newly released flythrough video guides players through the volcanic depths of Fyrmount, a hellish region that has close ties to the Castanic race. Enigmatic and secretive, the Castanics are stoically self-sufficient with the key to their independence lying in Fyrmount itself.
Necromancy Research Office is located in TERA's second continent, Southern Shara. Perched atop Mount Tryannas, the Research Office is home to all number of foul experiments, and BAMs. A team of 5 players took apart a collection of Kshara Skeletons before reaching Ignathol; a hellish Argon and one of TERA’s so-called ‘elite’ monsters.
Dragons, gargantuan monsters and gravity defying combat are all featured heavily in the trailer which depicts the merciless Argon onslaught scything right through the heart of TERA. But all is not lost as the steely resilience of five heroes, whose boots you’ll be squeezing into when the game launches in spring next year, proves to be more than a match for the rampaging monsters.
Something truly unholy and horrifying awaits you at the peak of Mount Tyrannas. The air, ripe with the stench of rotting flesh, cannot prepare you for what lies inside the castle looming at the mountain’s peak. As you venture deeper within the castle’s walls, the undead’s wailing and thirst for blood are the least of your worries as you begin to unravel the castle’s sinister past. Pay heed to these warnings and steel yourself for the tortures that lie ahead, for only the strongest will make it out alive.
The terror of the undead and the spider-infested caves of Arachne await you in the far-flung corners of TERA’s world. Explorers beware, for the perils you face inside these caves pose two very different and all together terrifying threats. Deep within the forests of TERA lies Arachnaea, a breeding ground for the ghastly Arachens, summoned by the evil goddesses Archne’s loyal party of sinister priests. Local villagers live in terror as the Arachens thirst for flesh and sacrificial offerings mean friends, neighbours and family members are all too frequently dragged into the abyss, never to return.
