XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a re-imagining of the groundbreaking classic X-COM: UFO Defense (1994) that tasks players with defending the Earth from a hostile alien invasion using a combination of deep strategy and intense tactical combat. As the commander of XCOM, a secret global military organization, players oversee combat strategies and individual unit tactics as well as base management and resource allocation.
The Linux version of XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be a SteamPlay title that runs on Ubuntu 14.04 and Valve’s SteamOS.
Take command of XCOM headquarters, recruit and train your soldiers, and research alien technology to advance the capabilities of your squad. The battle against the enemy will be tough, and success will depend on your ability to keep your recruits alive and evolve them from rookies to more skilled and powerful soldiers. You are our last hope to save humanity from the global alien invasion. Good luck, Commander.
