With a lavish opening sequence and a fresh and user-friendly menu system, Formula 1 2000 backs this with smooth in-game graphics, portraying a real sense of speed. Yet, this is let down by the mediocre sound effects that has been incorporated, as well as the camera angles which have been adopted by the games designers, making the game-play more difficult than is necessary. Standard racing modes are available, as well as the opportunity to upgrade your car through race winnings, as in Ridge Racer Type 4. This game will be an excellent addition to enthusiasts of the genre. However, there are many great racing games on the market and unfortunately, Formula 1 2000 doesn't offer anything new to the genre. --Alex Leung
