Here we go with a highly wanted game on any console: Star Wars. Star Wars games have appeared on almost any platform up until now. In this GBA version of Star Wars: Jedi Power Battles, you play one of the three characters: Obi One, Qui Gon Jin or Mace Windu. We’re off with the lightsaber!

The Graphics:

The graphics are much more advanced than previous games on the Game Boy Advance. The 3d environment is amazingly smooth and it looks like you were playing Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, which was released some time ago on the PC. When slashing a drone the sparks fly off and the bottom part falls to the ground.

The Sounds / Music:

The music is like all Star Wars games and movies, exciting and good. I was pretty amazed that the GBA could create such good music. The sounds are amazing too. The lightsaber swing is very realistic. Good sound and music make the game more attractive.

The Gameplay:

The first thing I noticed was the realistic movement. For instance if you run and then try to stop, you’ll slide a bit further which is very realistic. The jumps are good, but if you run and jump you’ll most likely stay on one place while jumping. The different features of your lightsaber are nice. You can swing, stab, slash and hack away at the drones. While in a jump you can point the lightsaber at the ground and make kebab of those nasty drones which I thought was a very funny feature. The force is with you; if you press L+R you make some kind of earthquake on the surrounding field that kills all the enemies. The game is very challenging and has a good story as well, which you don’t find in many games.

Summary and Rankings:

Graphics [9/10]: I’ve never played such a realistic 3d game on the Game Boy Advance before.

Audio [7/10]: Although the game has a nice music to play on, you get bored easily. The music is a bit one-sided.

Gameplay [8/10]: The game is very fun to play and it’s very attractive to continue playing which I didn’t find in most of the games on the Game Boy Advance.

Overall [8/10]: Whether you’re a Star Wars fan or not I would recommend this game to any game-fan, this action packed game will entertain you for quite a while!
