Rock Band 2 PS3 Version Available This Weekend

Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that Rock Band 2 for the PlayStation 3 will be available on Sunday, October 19th. In addition, Rock Band 2 for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii will ship in December 2008. Check the press release for a list of bundles available this weekend.

Mirror's Edge New Trailers #2

Electronic Arts has released a new trailer from Mirror's Edge, a first person action adventure scheduled to be available on November 13th for the PS3 and Xbox 360 and during winter for PC. Mirror's Edge takes place in a city where information is heavily monitored and agile couriers called Runners transport sensitive data away from prying eyes. In this seemingly utopian paradise, a crime has been committed and now you are being hunted. You are a Runner called Faith - and this first-person action-adventure is your story. Mirror's Edge was developed by EA DICE studio. We also have a video from the UK Free Running World Championships featuring some of the world's best free runners enjoying the game.

Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia New Screens

Nintendo released new screenshots from Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia for the Nintendo DS, a unique action-adventure series that features a fun, different way to capture Pokémon with the Nintendo DS stylus, which controls an item called the Capture Styler in the game. Players circle the Pokémon they want to catch by drawing circles around them on the touch screen. When you complete certain Quests, the Ranger Union awards you with power-ups, which add new upgrades and functions to your Capture Styler, allowing you to advance as you work to eventually become a Top Ranger. The game will be released on November 21st.

Nancy Drew: The Haunting of Castle Malloy Demo

Her Interactive has released a playable demo of Nancy Drew: The Haunting of Castle Malloy, a new adventure game in which Nancy Drew arrives in Ireland for what should be the joyous occasion of her friend's wedding. When the unthinkable happens and the groom is nowhere to be found, Nancy must put her detective skills to work to determine if this is a case of cold feet or something far more sinister. Nancy Drew: The Haunting of Castle Malloy hits stores today.

Agatha Christie: Evil Under the Sun Wii Screens

JoWooD Productions today released new screenshots from Agatha Christie: Evil Under the Sun, illustrating the advantages of playing with a Wii remote. Evil Under the Sun takes advantage of the unique features of the Wii, such as group gameplay, allowing groups of friends and families to gather around the television, sharing the Wii Remote, discussing and solving puzzles together. Call of Duty: World at War Multiplayer Trailer

Activision has released a new gameplay trailer from Call of Duty: World at War, a new first person shooter sequel developed by Treyarch Invention, the studio which developed Call of Duty 2: Big Red One and Call of Duty 3. Call of Duty: World at War will take place in the Pacific theatre (and partially in Russia's advance into Berlin). For the first time in Call of Duty's campaign 4-player co-op is supported over Xbox Live - and it supports meta game perks as in CoD4's online mode. Call of Duty: World at War will be available in North America on November 11, 2008, and in the UK on November 14, for PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.

Kivi's Underworld Open Beta Build

Soldak Entertainment has released an open beta build for Kivi's Underworld, a casual, hack and slash game with a fast pace, twenty playable characters, tons of powerups, many monsters using unique tactics and skills, numerous deadly traps, and multiple difficulty levels. In Kivi's Underworld, you will explore the mysterious underworld as a mighty Warrior battling opponents toe to toe, rain down fire on your enemies with the dangerous Fire Mage, sneak disguised with stealth to confound your foes as a Scout, unleash the fury of the Berserker, or adventure with any of the other sixteen playable characters. Kivi's Underworld is scheduled for Q4 2008, for PC and Mac.

Roogoo Nintendo Wii and NDS New Screens

Roogoo features DS & Wii cross-compatibility, all-new levels and game modes that take advantage of the unique features of the motion-sensitive Wii Remote and Nintendo DS touch screen and stylus. Meridian4 today announced an agreement with GFi for the online distribution of their classic titles. The first of the titles will start to appear online in the coming weeks. Prices range from $9.99 to $19.99, but there is no indication of the actual GFi titles covered by the agreement.

Lighthouse Interactive Gets Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals

Lighthouse Interactive today announced they acquired the UK and Scandinavian publishing rights for Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals, with the game scheduled to be released this November. Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals is an adventure game developed by Benoît Sokal's White Birds Productions and adapted from the famed "Nikopol Trilogy" graphic novel series, and major film release "Immortal", by Enki Bilal. The game immerses players in a futuristic Paris and the tale of a son's search for his father and ultimate journey into the perilous world of political intrigue. As Nikopol, players must use cunning and puzzle-solving logic to thwart a dark conspiracy. A playable demo is locally mirrored here.
